Everything I do…

To quote the words of a tedious hit from the early nineties "Everything I do I do it for you". My work isn't about me its about you, the client. It is my job to deliver you the design that best suits your purposes. To sell that product, establish that brand, or persuade that potential client to click and buy some.

With an in-depth knowledge of design and marketing online and on paper I can help you push your business forward or simply raise its distinction.

Please take a while to browse some of my work in print design, logos & branding, website design and , well everything else, and if you see something you like, let me know, just get in touch.

Print Design

Ink on paper

With the rise of the internet and new interactive technologies popping up at an alarming regularity, you would expect something as old hat as the printed page to die an undignified death, but still it carries on, holding its own.

There is something undeniably engaging about handling a piece of beautifully design print. Indeed a well designed piece can make a truly successful marketing tool.

With over twenty years experience in print design, designing all manner of items from business stationery to brochures, catalogues, leaflets, posters and flyers your printed marketing literature can be transformed from what can appear to be a throw away item into an engaging and high quality printed piece of marketing collateral reflecting the true standard that your business provides.

Logos & Branding

More than just logo design

Logo design is also probably the first thing you think of when you here the term graphic designer, so it'll be no surprise that I've worked on a wide variety of branding projects from simple and straight forward logo designs, such as the one for the Sun Inn to full branding or rebranding exercises as in the case of Sessions of Worcestershire.

As a business, your logo, your branding is one the most important pieces of marketing collateral you possess.

Branding isn't just about logos though its about keeping the company message on track, keeping your corporate colours in check , your type styles consistent and so on right down to the tone of the copywriting.

On top of the work I've produced for big corporates such as Jaguar, National Trust, LSC, NHS etc. where the work adheres to strict branding guidelines, a selection of more recent work is shown on these pages.

The Sun Inn, Leintwardine

This logo for Britain's last parlour pub formed part of a brief to produce a website to promote the pub and its heritage after the long time landlady 'Flossie' sadly passed away. The design is taken directly form a hand painted that hung outside the pub since the 1950s. And yes the awkwardness of the 'S' is deliberate.

Boo! Leather

Hand made leather dog collar artisans Boo Leather wanted a tattoo inspired look to their branding, which reflected perfectly the fun but edgy appeal of their distinctive collars.

Crow Studios

Crow Studios is a small complex of artist's studios based in Derby run by artist and interior designer Dale Shields. The crows naturally dark and ragged silhouette was a major element in the final design with it partially obscuring the logotype. A website, and vehicle livery was also part of the initial logo application

61 Irsha Street

This logo designed for 61 Irsha Street, a holiday let in the picturesque North Devon coastal fishing village of Appledore was designed with the intention to reflect the maritime history of the village and the close proximity of the cottage to the sea with a nod to the modern and sophisticated interior accommodation.

Benedict Homer

A logo design for artisan, furniture maker & designer maker Ben Homer. The distinctive style of his artworks made from various woods informed the colour and minimal, almost Scandinavian look to the brand. The leaf accent is taken directly from a leaf shape that forms a regular feature to many of his pieces.

Old School Electric

Old School Electric, a subsidiary company of high end interior designers and retailers Holloways of Ludlow was set up to handle an increasing demand for their retro design lighting.

The bulb featured in the logo is an illustration of an early 1930s designed Edison light bulb stocked by the company.

Sessions of Worcestershire

A complete rebranding project for this established firm of wholesale butchers based in Kidderminster. The rebranding covered a wide range of marketing collateral including direct mail, brochure, folders, website and a complete name change. Plus of course the logo design.

Extra

Extra - the Ludlow Arts Festival fringe came about as part of the main festivals drive to appeal to a wider audience by staging a series of partnered events around the town. The bright and bold colours of the design is intended to reflect the varied range of events being held including comedy, poetry, music and art.

Website Design

Don't make me think

So says one of the classic quotes about web design. And it's as true today as it's ever been. Website design is all about engagement. Engaging your target audience to look, try and buy your services, products, or ideas.

I design websites not just to look good, but to primarily be functional, and easy to use, so whether its a simple one-page micro-site that you need, or an all singing and dancing content managed solution to sell your products, why not get in touch and lets see what we can achieve together.
